Norwood Baptist Church RI

“Where All People Matter”

Reverend George Barclay, Jr.

1993 - current

Rev. George Barclay Jr. has served as pastor of Norwood Baptist Church RI since 1993, spending more than three decades helping people discover what it means to follow Jesus and live out their faith in everyday life.

Pastor George holds bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Biblical Studies, as well as a Master of Divinity. He is passionate about Scripture, people, technology, and making faith practical and accessible.

Outside of ministry, George enjoys playing guitar on Sunday mornings, exploring the mountains of New Hampshire, and—perhaps most importantly—anything Marvel, with Spider-Man as his favorite. He is also a 3rd degree black belt, proving that there’s more to him than meets the eye!

George is married to Kathleen, his high school sweetheart, and they have two adult sons and two granddaughters.

Known for his wild sense of humor and willingness to laugh at himself, Pastor George believes ministry is about walking alongside people through real life—and reminding them that All People Matter.

“With great power comes great responsibility… and great coffee, a good sense of humor and a LOT of Sunday mornings.”

Rebecca Porter-Harris

Office Manager

2005 - current

Rebecca Porter-Harris has been part of the Norwood Baptist Church RI family for more than 21 years. As Office Manager, she keeps much of the behind-the-scenes work moving, from church communications and website content to helping share the story of what’s happening at Norwood Baptist and in the surrounding community.

Over the years, Rebecca has served in many areas of ministry, including Fellowship, Worship, Outreach, and Evangelism. She loves connecting people and helping create a church community where All People Matter.

When she’s not at the church, Rebecca enjoys spending time with her husband, Kevin, their daughters, and granddaughters. And while she spends plenty of time writing, creating, and communicating, her ideal day would probably involve a beach, a good book, or horseback riding on the trails.

“If Rebecca isn’t at her desk, check the beach. If she’s not there, check the trails. If she’s not there… don’t ask.” 😏
